Nuclear Bombs

It is hard to comprehend the amount of energy condensed into a Nuclear bomb. What an effective way to store energy. The design of the bomb, however, releases all of the energy at once killing everything for a very long time.

We know that the energy can also be used slowly if we change the way it is released. How much carbon could we keep out of the air if we used the materials to fuel Nuclear Power Plants instead of bombs?
